OVERVIEW

BH Group was established by James Houlston a highly experienced developer.  BH Group started out life as Business Homes, who specialised in the development of small unit commercial space. BH Group has an enviable track record and has developed throughout the UK. The downturn brought a significant shift in strategy moving away from the small business unit market, diversifying into renewable energy via BH Groups sister company BH EnergyGap and working closely with a small number of major funds to create funding solutions for niche sectors such as the energy from waste sector, the hotel sector and the healthcare sector.

Alexander has joined BH Group as a company director dealing with the acquisition and development of new hotel projects. Having got the taste for hospitality at a young age when he worked in various operational jobs to pay for his hobbies (in Spain, The Netherlands and French Caribbean), he now also has more than 12 years of corporate experience having worked on multiple projects in UK and throughout EAME.

Prior to joining BH Group, Alexander was head of European acquisitions for the two boutique hotel brands, Malmaison & Hotel du Vin, where they acquired and rebranded 5 existing hotels, opened one new build hotel and had a significant pipeline of projects in various stages of development. Before this he looked after all management and franchise efforts in the UK and Spain for Wyndham Hotel Group and before that he was a senior team member of the Starwood Hotels EAME feasibility team based out of Brussels.

SARAH GIBBS

Sarah joined BH group following the acquisition of The Swan in 2020 where she had spent 11 years as a Company Director growing the business and developing the much-loved family owned hotel. She continues to head up the team at the Swan and oversees the forthcoming development plans, with intentions to take on a larger role within BH group overseeing the development of acquisitions into exceptional hotels.

The hospitality industry found Sarah quite by accident whilst she was studying for a degree in Sport Science. After 4 years in event management encompassing stadium openings, major high-profile sporting events and delivering hospitality to some of the world’s most famous and influential people Sarah joined the team at The Swan as General Manager at the tender age of 26.

Here she had a very close working relationship with the owners and oversaw amongst other things a 375% growth in profit, picking up a much-coveted acorn award as one of the top hoteliers under the age of 30 along the way. Sarah is a strong and passionate leader who is dedicated to creating wonderful spaces, exceptional hospitality and committed teams.

Outside of work Sarah is a former competitive rower, she spends as much time as possible running and keeping fit but most of her free time and weekends are taken up in assisting her young son in the pursuit of his own dreams of becoming a motocross champion. You will find her with a spanner in her hand, travelling the length and breadth of the country, usually covered in mud and oil.

A far cry from luxury hotels!
